We are looking for a candidate who is experienced in either fully fashioned knits/cut and sew or wovens or experience in both categories.
My client offers flexible working hours, a very small and friendly team environment and a candidate who can work independently, with a positive attitude and a medium level of experience. This is a great opportunity for a design assistant who wants to work for a brand and in future have a career path.  
 
The suitable candidate would be required to work with the Designer in developing two seasonal ranges each year with product development for majors as required.

·        Assist in developing the range – involvement in styling decisions, fabric and colour selections with local and European fabric ranges

·        Catalogue overseas samples

·        Input all style information into AP21 including style number, colours, fabric and trim details, colour ways

·        Storyboards for majors

·        Attend fitting sessions for overseas sample and proto garments

·        Approve lab dips, fabric qualities

·        Manage spreadsheet for daily updating and status of each garment in work

·        Sketch all garments in Illustrator – must be proficient in Illustrator

·        Prepare and dispatch sample packages to China factories

·        Co-ordinate advertising samples for seasonal photography

• Experienced in technical illustrations and must be able to use Illustrator and Photoshop
• Highly motivated, professional and energetic
• Must have great communication skills working within the team, offshore China factories  and a ‘can do’ attitude**
• Must be very organised and accurate in all detail**
• Would prefer AP21 experience as we fill in the Bill of Materials in our specifications and work with AP21.  Advantageous
• Create a range book each season in AP21
  

• No yardage prints – only require occasional artwork as a concept only to be sent to our manufacturer (not in repeat - just adjusting overseas prints when required) therefore knowledge of yardage and placement prints
