The Role – Technical designer/pattern maker/grader

Our Client is looking for a seasoned technical designer/pattern maker/grader with a strong knowledge of intimate apparel including bras and sleepwear.


  1. The successful candidate would be reporting to the creative director.
  2. Like working as part of a team and finding solutions to fit and design challenges
  3. Create initial development / first pattern’s after briefing from design team.
  4. Initial sample / cutting sample / fitting sample / creating size specifications / create costing BOM
  5. Grading of patterns by using the Gerber technology
  6. Create Production tech pack – fully graded size chart, sewing construction, how to measure page using illustrator & create BOM. (Bill of Material)
  7. Fit – Be able to accurately assess garments for fit, spec and shape.
  8. Identify QC issues, measure samples and send fit comments and pattern changes to offshore factories.
  9. Checking and commenting on size sets and communicating with the factory
  • Consultation with QA with regard to any issues
  • Proficient in Illustrator & Excel.
  • An advantage to have knowledge of GBSS – Target system.



  • Extensive experience with Technical Design and pattern making with a focus on bras, briefs and sleepwear.
  • In-depth knowledge of garments, fabrics, specs, grading, construction & how to work with them.
  • Able to work easily with tech packs in Excel to make comments (utilizing diagrams & sketches), create specs, and create grading.
  • Experience working with overseas vendors is a must; should be able to work through issues easily with factories with good communication and plenty of details.
  • Able to function independently and as a team, stay organized & meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills & great attention to detail.
  • Flexible & able to solve problems creatively; be able to spot issues, communicate them to the team, and come to an agreement on how to solve them.
  • Degree preferred.
