Design Room and Production Coordinator

Key Performance Indicators

  • To ensure the development of each collection is on time and on budget and on critical path, as provided
  • To ensure the most well rounded collection is developed to the merchandise plan to maximise sell through
  • To ensure the hand over from design to production is on quality and on time according to critical path and brand expectations
  • To ensure the collection is costed with Production Manager to ensure accurate costings lead to strong and improved budgeted margins
  • To ensure Niche and BOMs match with updated aligned information leading to successful ordering for Production at all stages from costings through to final handover and after pp stage
  • To ensure the entire development and production process has the most positive impact on the planet and people
  • To deliver impact driven considerations at every point
  • To research options and provide sustainable solutions across development, production and dispatch, including biodegrade packaging from makers across the globe and from the Company to retailers across the globe

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Creating dossiers of inspiration for each area, such as India, Textile print designers, Jersey design
  • Print development, creating print design and working with Print Designers to develop collection long lead
  • Execute the flow of the design from from inception to production handover this includes, managing the development of collection, booking machinists, cutters, Pattern making flow, inputting data into Niche and BOMS, managing fittings and updating BOMS reflective of garment, prepares Niche for costings, preparing collection for showing, preparing final hand over of collection for SALES ensuring collection is presented beautifully on brand, prepare line sheet, including shots from sales photo shoot, continuing to update Niche
  • Hand over all excess fabrics and accessories for that season to hand over balance to production
  • Managing development budget and presenting update spend weekly to ensure spend is not over budget
  • Design, technical input in fittings
  • Manage the hand over of tech packs on time with the direction of Production manager
  • Prepare all care labels content artwork on time
  • Set up grading schedule and work with pattern maker and Production Manager on scheduling to ensure on time
  • Fittings at hand over of collection – ensure fit notes are recorded accurately and updated on BOMS and every fitting subsequently the fit notes are continually recorded and updated
  • Negotiate and communicate all relevant information on fabrics, ie lead time, prices, payment terms and minimums on all fabrics and accessories
  • Having thorough understanding of best sellers, for each channel sells
  • Having thorough understanding of product knowledge though self-testing and qualitative research
  • At the forefront of sourcing sustainable textiles, print developments and all materials available in the market
  • EDI – preparing EDI bar code documents for David Jones and Iconic
  • Invoicing of David Jones and Iconic from ASN’s provided

 

  • To manage the spend of the development budget provided to either below or on forecast
  • To cost the collection from development stage through to production
  • To manage the design room team, including machinists, cutters and relevant freelancers, through the development of the Companys collection
  • To manage the design room to achieve on time completion of the Companys collection, developed within the development budget provided
  • To manage fit model and fit session preparation
