Job Description

  FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME (3-4 DAYS/WEEK) WITH FLEXIBLE HOURS

: Sportswear/Active wear

Our client is a well-known Sportswear Fashion label.  You will be able to translate new designs into patterns that are graded into children’s, women’s and men’s sizes ready for production, in conjunction with size specification sheets. Maintaining the pattern library whilst updating and altering existing patterns for production.

 

Sportswear Patterns

  • You will prepare new patterns on Gerber from design sketches or samples and alter existing patterns to make improvements to fit.
  • Altering existing patterns for individual customers’ specific sizes.
  • Checking patterns from factory against samples/production for accuracy.
  • Creating markers when needed for production and usage.
  • Checking patterns when quality issues arise.
  • Attend fit sessions to refine patterns to customer’s needs

Grading

  • Grading new patterns and existing patterns into children’s, women’s and men’s sizes including plus sizes. Developing new grading standards that are in line with industry sizing standards.

Specifications

  • Creating new measurement specs by measuring patterns.
  • Creating master specs for new patterns including creating/altering black and white sketches using adobe illustrator.
  • Updating existing measurement specs when changes are made.

Computer Skills/Communication

  • Emailing patterns to manufacturers after converting patterns to correct file format specific to the manufacturers.
  • Communicating with manufacturers and internally recording any changes  to patterns and measurement specs.
  • Plotting new and existing patterns for sampling.
  • Creating markers to translate patterns from Gerber to Adobe Illustrator  files.

Skills and Requirements

  • Experience in Gerber Pattern making, Grading, Marker making in conjunction with strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Gerber AccumarkExplorer V.11+,Adobe Illustrator)
  • Strong technical background and sound understanding of garment construction.manufacturers
  • The ability to develop a pattern from a sketch,sample or written instructions.
  • Knowledge of offshore and local manufacturing processes
  • High attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong fitting and problem-solving skills.

High level of accuracy.

SALARY $85-$95K PLUS SUPER pro rata perm p/t.
