Meet Our client: Workwear
We are a refreshing, radical and refined feminine workwear clothing label, based in Melbourne. We have a dedicated following and have seen unprecedented growth since launching in April 2019. We strive to create the best workwear on offer, with a focus on responsible production and genuine community relationships. Whilst we are passionate about repping women in trades, our styles translate seamlessly to the street, as well as fast becoming a household name for any odd jobs and off-site hard work. We are also seeing our beloved brand become the queer uniform around the streets of Melbourne, and we are not sorry about it. Founded and directed by a female labourer, with a femme heavy, diverse team – we are the real deal.

What You’ll Do
This is an integral role to our team and future of our brand. You will create and drive a brand strategy that will ensure we fulfill our very real potential in becoming a global, household name. Whilst this role will be starting small, with fine-tuning our fundamentals, we envision a long and successful career of growth together. This key member of our team will be working side by side with the founder, managing and inspiring a growing team of creatives and co-ordinators.

What this looks like for you day-to-day:

  • Live and breathe our brand DNA – build our brand, safeguard our identify and ensure consistency across all channels
  • Develop and lead best practice local and interstate marketing and retailer-specific campaigns
  • Plan, develop and execute a strategy to move into the global market
  • Work in partnership with our experienced Merchandise Planner and Production Manager to ensure we develop realistic KPIs and achieve them.
  • Manage online and offline activations and brand collaborations.
  • Build engaging product launch strategies and own this roadmap.
  • Partner with the Product Development team to ensure our brand’s identity is on point from start to finish.
  • Manage and inspire a Marketing Co-ordinator who will help you execute the day-to-day, allowing you to focus on leading the brand strategy.
  • Oversee the Marketing Co-ordinator to manage our creative PR, digital and (future) media agencies.
  • Work in tandem with our Digital Marketing Strategist to gain relevant Advertising feedback and increase ROAS.
  • Foster meaningful relationships with our retail partners and help them realise just how special our brand and products are
  • Research best locations to launch new brick and mortar stores – Plan and action this.
  • Develop a strategy around visual merchandising.
  • Partner with the broader team and our retailers to create collaborations, promotions, limited offers, etc that excite and boost sales.
  • Develop and deliver on growing monthly KPIs.
  • Oversee development and management Marketing Budget.

We would love to hear from like-minded people with considerable experience (in fashion a plus), who are willing and able to bring their skill and wisdom to a growing business. We are looking for someone who understands our values and intentions and who can see where our brand is heading. We are growing out of a start-up mindset and into a medium sized business, so agility and vision are a must. You will be leading a young creative team, implementing structure, strategy, and strength, so the ability to accept and enjoy the chaos of a new thriving business, whilst leading with calm, generosity and grace will be indispensable. You will be a senior member of the team, in charge of driving sales and growth, this will require confidence and excellent communication skills.

You’ll also have:

  • Global experience in both retail and direct to consumer marketing
  • Strong knowledge of global markets and management of global campaigns
  • A genuine interest and desire to understand the brand, our voice, our garments, and our customer.
  • Experience building local, interstate, and international partnerships that are collaborative and meaningful.
  • Experience leading strategic projects end-to-end.
  • Experience managing agency partners and preferably, a team.
  • The confidence to work cross functionally and drive alignment across multiple stakeholders.
  • Fashion and garment industry experience.
  • Well informed on social, political, and environmental matters a must.
  • Calm leadership skills to foster a young team.
