Our client’s label is part of a much larger Group.  A privately owned family company that was established in 1915. They have a long history in designing, manufacturing and supplying uniforms to both the retail and wholesale channels. They continue to deliver consciously developed products to customers through the balance of experience and service.

The Company continues to experience growth and prides itself on being proactive and innovative in developing new products and opportunities within the uniform/schoolwear market.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Pattern Maker who has the capacity to demonstrate exceptional pattern-making skills, with a sound technical knowledge of garment construction and garment fit.

Ideally, we are seeking people with :

  • 5+ years of extensive apparel pattern making and technical garment knowledge for both adult and child categories with formal and sport experience preferred
  • Computer literacy in Lectra, pattern making or similar system plus AP21, Excel and Outlook
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of garment construction
  • Experience in uniforms is preferred but not essential
  • Highly engaging and polished skills
  • Outstanding communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work
  • Highly organised
  • Must be self-motivated with an active ‘hands-on’ approach and a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Friendly attitude
  • Committed and reliable

What will your key responsibilities be?

  • Creating patterns for all customers (schools)
  • Finalise all patterns in line with production schedules and according to the critical path
  • As per design boards create detailed technical packs ready for production, export and email patterns to factories
  • Participate in fittings and ensure that fit changes are made to garment specifications when required
  • Work with an in-house sample machinist to achieve the best quality make and most cost-effective method of garment construction
  • Prepare sample and specifications packs to produce PPS and Bulk
  • Complete product and size specifications in AP21 and oversee style maintenance for all specs
  • Manage detailed BOMs in AP21
  • Accurately measure samples and translate them to technical pack to ensure high-quality sample-making
  • Provide accurate grading information
  • Liaise with external factories to support the production process
  • Work closely with QC teams to resolve any quality issues
