Job Description

Purpose Statement

 

In conjunction with the Buying Managers, to strategically source and manage a factory base that meets the determined B Corp goals, quality level and a cost price structure for Apparel and Accessories.

 

To ensure that all our client’s merchandise is of the required commercial standard including consistent quality, make, fit, presentation and labelling. This position requires management of quality standards for apparel, fit of garments and expense budgets (House Model and Qualspec).

Experience & Relevant Education:

•      Extensive experience in a production, sourcing and QA position

Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Relationships Source factories to meet the needs of the business

•        Continuously review the vendor/factory performance, identify the needs of the business and source factories to meet the business requirement

  •        Ensure our client only works with Suppliers and Factories that align to our  
  ethical standards and expectations.

Supplier Relationships:

•        Provide timely feedback to suppliers and ensure that quality processes meet client standards.

•        Counsel of suppliers regarding any quality issues

•        Effective relationships built and maintained with Suppliers

  •        Seasonal Supplier Swot, Strat & support Buying Manager in strategic supplier forecasts

•        Work with new suppliers and team members so that client standards

  •        Conduct regular store visits with suppliers or team for regular feedback on  
  quality issues.  

 

  •        Review 3rd party reports with suppliers and manage opportunities to improve results where required.

Quality Control •        Manage internal Quality Assurance team to ensure the factories are producing quality samples for fitting and quality product during production

•        Develop and manage internal quality assurance department and determine quality standards for merchandise

•        Work with vendors to make sure fit samples and PP samples are delivered on time and with great quality

•        Communicate and provide feedback to factory in regards to their quality and standards regularly

•        Educate all vendors in QA processes/ sample production quality standards approach

•        Management of production quality

•        Manage and coordinate the external quality functions

•        Manage the fabric and accessory testing procedure across supplier base to the required standard

•        Ensure all labels meet Australian Standards and client Standards and are appropriate for the garments

•        Effective working relationship maintained with both QA team and Buying Team

Processes and Manuals •        In conjunction with the Group Ethical Sourcing Manager and Quality & Sourcing Manager provide input into the development of a QA manual that reflects best practice standard operating procedures and supplier agreements.

•        Ensure that QA processes are efficient and reflect best practice procedures

•        Ensure that the QA component of the Policies and Procedures Manual enables suppliers to produce garments to cient standards

•        Document and maintain the Quality Assurance component of the Policies and Procedures manual for vendors

•        Input provided for QA manual

•        Manual clearly outlines client standards

 

Reporting •        Ensure detailed reporting processes are in place to track and measure KPIs

•        Update Managing Director and Buying Manager on vendor portfolio management and vendor performance scorecard seasonally in conjunction with the QA teams

•        Reporting to factories on available capacity and business utilised capacity to ensure the business stay relevant to the factory and vice versa

•        Use provided systems to assist in day-to-day management of Suppliers and Factories.

•        Regular and accurate reporting provided to the Managing Director and leadership teams as required
Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) •        Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.

•        Ensure the Group Retail CEO & Group People & Community Partnerships Managers are kept up to date on any legal matters or issues that may result in reputational damage to the Brand or Group.

•        Ensure our B Corp standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability are met.

•        Ensure the stakeholder impact is considered in every decision we make.

•        Ensure Company policies & procedures are always adhered to and clearly communicated and followed by all team members.
