The Demand/New Business Planner is responsible for creating and maintaining a consolidated demand plan for the business. This position ensures that monthly updates from Account Managers and the Product Development Team are included to maintain the currency of the demand plan, which drives the purchasing and production requirements for the business. Â This role uses the demand information to produce, maintain and monitor the badge production and distribution plan. The role is also responsible for creating the initial requirement plan for any new business
This role is important because it ensures we have the right product mix at the right time, without which we could not deliver great customer service
- KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1.1. Forecasting
- Manages the annual sales planning process, ensuring that annual plans match the budget at the account level
- Converts the sales plan into a monthly forecast reflecting the seasonal sales pattern
- Produces monthly exception reports for Account Managers
- Proactively seeks Account Manager feedback and incorporates it into the forecast
- Performs a quarterly review highlighting accounts that are above or below budget
- Ensures the accuracy of product data, which is central to product succession
- Ensures the accuracy of demand information used to produce, maintain, and monitor the badge production and distribution plan.
Product Succession
- Manages product succession, ensuring that transitioned products are sold down, and new product forecasts reflect the selling down of old stock
- Performs a quarterly review of new product introduction and ensures account managers are selling old stock first
- Ensures the new product is quarantined until the old product is sold through
- New Business
- Maintains the new business template to capture expected demand
- Ensures new business is appropriately captured in the demand plan
- Prepares a quarterly new business report outlining the impact of wins (and losses) on the forecasted unit sales
- Prepares the initial Purchase Orders for any new business.
- Badge Planning
- Maintains an annual production plan for badges based on the forecast
- Review the demand plan quarterly and update accordingly
- Transfers badges every week to China, ensuring availability to meet the production requirements

- Maintains accurate and up-to-date data in relevant systems, e.g. AX, CRM, POS, ELMO
- Shares relevant data and information to inform business decisions
- Bring to the attention of your manager any concerns about data accuracy or insights that impact the business
1.8. Other Duties
- Undertakes other duties within the employee’s skills and experience as directed by your manager
- POSITION COMPETENCIES
2.1. Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in forecasting a large SKU range is preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience in a retail, logistics or manufacturing environment is highly regarded
- Working with Children Permit and Police Check
